Outrage in Wisconsin: Thousands Flood Capitol After GOP Strips Public Workers of Bargaining Rights in Surprise Senate Vote
"Thousands of demonstrators flooded the Wisconsin State Capitol building last night after Republican senators took a surprise vote to strip most public employee workers of their right to collectively bargain. The bill could be made law if the Assembly votes today. The State Senate has been at a standstill since all 14 Democratic members fled the Wisconsin to prevent quorum. But on Wednesday, Republicans advanced the measure by stripping it of fiscal measures requiring a 20-member quorum for action."
Is this the straw that will push Americans to say enough? What's left when our own government acts like Hitler marching through Poland? Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has declared an all out war on working people. His unlawful action is akin to a dictatorship. It's time for Americans everywhere to say "NO" If we can't find a voice now, we never will.
So what's left for the workers to do? STRIKE? Did the Rogue legislature also strip that right from the workers, as well? Whether they did or not,..... the time is near. Look at Ohio,..... Who's next? Michigan is trying the same tactic. It's time for "Workers of the World, Unite!"... Yeah,... I know that sounds like "Communist Propaganda", but, what the hell is being left for workers. If we don't stick together, we are doomed to pay for the mismanagement of our government, with the sacrifice of our very existence.
The American way of life is at stake here. This is only the first salvo. The hypocrites and right wing pundits would have us believe that we are the cure for the deficit. They rail against us with unbridled self-righteousness. While they spew their contempt for union workers, their hypocrisy comes out to slap us in the face.
From AlterNet:Are you surprised? How many of Wisconsin's elected representatives got helped into office by labor unions? Probably a few, huh?
In spite of their criticism of unions in Wisconsin, AlterNet has confirmed that leading right-wing pundits are American Federation Television and Radio Artists union members.
IS THIS THE ONLY OPTION LEFT FOR AMERICAN WORKERS?
"WORKERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE"
